On May 13th, Ross Secler was pleased to present a legislative and case law update to the Chicago Bar Association Election Law Committee. Highlights included a discussion of further “suffrage at 17” developments, the status of various legislative redistricting amendments, and the outcome of his appellate case, Fallis & McItyre v. Cook County Officers Electoral Board, 1-16-0370. Ross also led a discussion of possible election law reforms that the committee may wish to support.
At the end of the meeting, Ross was honored to accept the nomination as Vice Chair of the Election Law Committee for the next year and looks forward to serving.
